Seven Random Things

1. I'm the math class and a classical social theory paper away from getting my BS from Weber. I did the ceremony in 2004, but didn't pass the classes in the summer to get the certificate. I'm glad I at least did that. I am working on getting the math done now. I didn't graduate high school til just before my 25th birthday. In high school I told my English teacher where to go because she said I couldn't just come for the tests. It was fun to do a graduation ceremony, but now I want the paper.

2. I'm a wuss. Before the big pine tree in our back yard was cut down, it always had weird flying things in it. Like these green and yellow striped beetles that are a couple inches big and you hear them clicking their wings. They fly close to your head and made it so I couldn't get out of my garage. They scared me and I called the boys asking them to come help me get in my house. They laughed. I took my garage door opener and went to the front of the house and thought about my situation. Then I realized I could go around the other side of the house and avoid the tree and bugs all together. Whoa, I got in and without the bugs. The night I came home and opened the door to bats by the tree, I almost lost it. Again, I called the boys, they laughed, and then I remembered how I got in the last time. Both nights Roy was working graveyard, so he wasn't home to help me. The tree is no longer there, so I'm safe now.

3. I love swimming, being in the water, but I don't swim well. In fact I don't like to get my head more than a couple inches under water. I can't go off a diving board, nor jump into water that's more than 6 maybe 7 feet deep. If I can't touch the bottom or I don't have a floating device, I panic. Tyler asked if I'd almost drowned as a kid and yes, in the ocean once when I was about 10. I love being on the water though. Just not completely under it.

4. I hate wearing long pants. They bug my shins and the back of my knees. I'd rather wear a skirt or shorts. Capris are okay though. For work I have a couple skirts and a couple pairs of capris. I have a couple pair of pants, but I don't like them. However, I love pajamas because they are soft cotton or flannel. At home I work in pajamas all the time.

5. Even though I hate wearing shoes, I love shoes, boots, sandals, etc. They all have to be loose fitting, so I can slip them off.

6. I love stairs. I like to climb them and wish I had ones that I used in my house. It helps with exercise. And I love climbing. It's great to go to the top and look down.

7. I love the summer, but most of all, I love just being outside. I love being in the garden in the good weather or just out walking, playing, or even looking at the empty field in the back. For some reason the field and the goat next door give me peace. I miss the horses that our neighbor kept there.
